Qualifications
Stedi-Power Equipment is fully qualified for the worldwide lightning protection, surge arrester, and transient voltage surge suppressor (TVSS) market.
Because of our international presence, we operate under conditions not normally seen in the United States, and as a result we are required to meet expanded standards. Our products have been submitted to a wide range of organizations for testing and qualification.
Underwriters Laboratories (UL)
There are several types of UL Marks. Each has its own specific meaning and significance. The only way to determine if a product has been certified by UL is to look for the UL Mark on the product itself. In a few instances, the UL Mark may be present only on the packaging of a product.
The UL Mark on a product means that UL has tested and evaluated representative samples of that product and determined that they meet UL’s requirements. In addition, products are periodically checked by UL at the manufacturing facility to make sure they continue to meet UL requirements.
The UL Marks are registered certification marks of Underwriters Laboratories Inc. The UL Marks may be only used on or in connection with products certified by UL and under the terms of written agreement with UL.
CSA International
The Canadian Standards Association operates similarly to Underwriters Laboratories. Since our equipment is qualified for Canadian Standards under our Underwriters Laboratories Listing and meet the necessary requirements, we have chosen not to submit for testing in Canada at this time.SA International has the #1 Marks in Canada and the only Mark You Need for the U.S.
ANSI (American National Standards Institute)
The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) is a private, non-profit organization (501(c)3) that administers and coordinates the U.S. voluntary standardization and conformity assessment system.
The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) provides accreditation in accordance with ISO/IEC Guide 65 for product certification programs to ensure that the marketplace can gain confidence for their activities.
European CE (Conformité Européne) Mark
The CE Mark is a visible declaration by the manufacturer that marked equipment complies with all the requirements of all the applicable directives. Having ensured that the equipment does indeed meet all these requirements (including all the administrative requirements involved in being able to demonstrate compliance), the CE Mark may then be affixed and the product released. The letters, “CE”, indicate that the manufacturer has undertaken all assessment procedures required for the product.
Since this mark is a declaration, and not a qualification, Stedi-Power, Inc assumed the initiative and offered our products for testing to an independent, third-party testing laboratory to assure that we meet all requirements. We don’t believe “declaring” a product is compliant is sufficient.
US National Electrical Code (National Fire Protection Association)
Changes to the US National Electrical Code (NEC) have placed great burdens on installers and specifiers. Stedi-Power products are fully qualified for installation under either Article 285 (Transient Voltage Surge Suppressors, or TVSS) and Article 280 (Surge Arrester or Secondary Surge Arrester SSA).
All compliance assurances that must be made by installers or specifiers are plainly marked on our labeling.
